Edmonton Oilers at Anaheim Ducks
Edmonton put up a valiant attempt against San Jose last night (they only allowed 33 shots against!) but managed to lose 5-4. The team did this exact same thing at the start of January: On January 2nd, Edmonton went into San Jose and lost 5-1 (giving up just 36 shots against!), then went into Anaheim the very next night and lost 5-2 (and were outshot 37-18). The Oilers are 0-3-3 when playing the second game of back to back road games so don’t expect much out of them tonight.
Anaheim is starting to find the net with regularity, scoring 22 goals in their last five games and averaging 36 shots against along the way. They have also given up just nine power plays to the other team in their last five games (one goal against). Sure, they were all non-playoff teams, but look at who’s coming to town tonight.
Stack away on the Ducks.
