Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – March 28

Phil Kessel

Anaheim Ducks at Edmonton Oilers

For the troubles that Anaheim has had at times this month, they have scored at least two goals in every game they’ve played this month but one. They have also managed at least 40 shots on goal in four of their 11 games this month. The power play is seemingly back on track after going 3-for-7 in their last three games (that followed a 2-for-47 spell), and that’s a boost to guys like Patrick Maroon and Mathieu Perreault, both of whom have found their way to the top power play unit. Also, Stephane Robidas (who hadn’t played in nearly four months before last week) found some spare power play time last game as well.

Edmonton has now lost three straight games by a combined score of 16-4. What’s truly amazing about that is two of those three games, the Oilers were playing Calgary and Buffalo. Yikes.

The Oilers penalty kill had actually been pretty good for about a month as they allowed four power play goals against in 13 games from Feb. 3 – March 18. They then allowed four power play goals against in their next three games. Not a good stretch to be on facing an Anaheim team that is just finding their power play groove again.

The Oilers have lost both games so far this year to the Ducks by a combined 8-4 score, and with the way both teams are playing, I expect Anaheim to hang at least a three-spot on the Oilers tonight. Depending if the salaries can be worked out, I don’t mind stacking the top power play unit for the Ducks in this one for GPPs. I also am not opposed to testing the waters with whoever starts in net for them in 50/50s.
