Winnipeg Jets at San Jose Sharks
The Jets have had an absolutely brutal month of March, going 3-6-3 so far this month and scoring two or fewer goals in eight of their last 12 games. They are playing some pretty good team defense, allowing 27 or fewer shots on goal in five of their last six games, but the offense has crashed and the goalies (read: Al Montoya) can only do so much. The team will get a boost as Andrew Ladd is expected to return after leaving the team for a game for the birth of his child, and that should help balance the top two lines. All the same, I don’t have a lot of confidence in this team DFS-wise right now.
San Jose is going through a shooting crisis right now as the team is shooting just 6.5-percent over their last six games. They are dominating teams regularly, but until those percentages start to even out, it’s really tough to stack a line, especially when 36-percent of this team’s offense over their last six games came against the Edmonton Oilers. We are still awaiting official word on Logan Couture as well, as he missed Tuesday’s game against Edmonton after blocking a shot off his leg and leaving the game on Monday. If he is out again, look for Tyler Kennedy to take his spot as the second line center.
These teams have faced each other twice this year and the games were quite polar opposites: one was a 5-4 shootout win for Winnipeg back in November, the other was a 1-0 regulation win for the Sharks back in January. I don’t know that San Jose fills the net tonight, but they should win the game. There are players that can provide good value to help round out GPP lineups so I will be doing just that.
