On Tuesday, the New York Knicks will travel to Los Angeles to face the Lakers in a weeknight matchup. While the Lakers are playing strictly for pride and draft positioning at this point, the Knicks still have hopes of getting into the Eastern Conference playoffs. While L.A. is 18 games from the No. 8 seed in the West, New York sits only 2 1/2 games behind the eighth-place Atlanta Hawks after their loss on Monday.
The Lakers will hope to get back Steve Nash and Pau Gasol from injury. Nash did not play in the Lakers’ game on Sunday against the Orlando Magic because of a hamstring injury while Gasol left that game early with dizziness. As of Monday night, no firm odds were available. With the recent injuries to Gasol and Nash, though, that was to be expected.
