Los Angeles Kings at Philadelphia Flyers
The Kings put an abrupt end to their three game losing streak with back to back wins against the Eastern Conference in their last two. Despite the team still not scoring very many goals – they’ve scored just 11 in their last five games – they have still managed to score a power play goal in eight of ten games this month. The Kings faced the Flyers at the start of February in Los Angeles and the Kings absolutely dominated the game – and lost 2-0. In their last five games, the Kings have averaged outshooting their opponents by 10.6 shots a game.
The Flyers have gone 8-1-1 in the month of March and this late burst, barring a complete collapse, has essentially assured them of a playoff spot. The offense just keeps rolling along as the team has scored at least three goals in 12 of 15 games since the start of February, averaging about 3.5 goals a game over that stretch. The scoring is starting to spread itself out a bit with both top lines chipping in a fair amount lately. While it’s a good thing to have a bigger market of goals to select from, it also makes stacking lines fairly difficult.
This should be a pretty hard-fought game from start to finish. It’s basically a coin flip game in Vegas and that’s the way I see it in DFS too. It could be a rare low-scoring game for the Flyers so I’ll just be looking for value picks in this one and leave the goalies alone.
