Nashville Predators at Chicago Blackhawks
Nashville scored six against the Calgary Flames on Friday night and to say it was unexpected would be an understatement; Nashville had scored just five goals in their four games before that. It should be noted that the team only had 22 shots on goal, which means that they had a team shooting percentage of 27.3-percent for that game. They got all of their regression out at once, it seems.
As has been the case all season, Craig Smith has proven himself to be the team’s only reliable DFS performer; Smith has four points in his last eight games for the team and has managed nearly three shots on goal along the way. Those aren’t great numbers, but it’s the best this team has.
Chicago started the month with a 3-3-0 record but have now gone 3-0-1 in their last four games. The impressive part is that their goalies – a mix of Corey Crawford and Antti Raanta – have allowed just six goals against in those four games (and two of them were on the penalty kill).
We’re still waiting for official word, but it would seem that with Patrick Kane on the Injured Reserve, tonight would be a good time for the Blackhawks to unveil rookie Teuvo Teravainen. After finishing his season overseas, the highly-touted rookie could make his debut with the Hawks tonight. Keep it locked to Left Wing Lock, though, for updates as the day wears on.
Nashville typically plays the ‘Hawks pretty tough and Chicago is going to be missing at least Kane for this one. It’s probably closer than it might seem on paper, but the ‘Hawks should take this one in the end. I’ll be looking for a small stack on some of their players as well as Crawford in net.
