Tampa Bay Lightning at Ottawa Senators
Tampa Bay is on a heater, as they’ve now won four straight games and have scored 17 goals in those four wins. Steven Stamkos seemed to have found his niche again last night as he managed a hat trick against the Toronto Maple Leafs. They have also scored four power play goals in their last four games. One thing to keep an eye on would be Steven Stamkos’ ice time tonight; last night before the game he did an interview and talked about still getting back the strength in his formerly broken leg. This will be the first time since returning that Stamkos will have had to play back to back nights. They may manage his minutes and that can hurt his DFS value.
Ottawa has lost four games in a row and are 2-4-2 in the month of March, playing themselves right out of a playoff spot. They have also given up 20 goals against in the last four games and got blown out 8-4 in their last home game. The game tonight is one of those “show us what you’re made of” type of games from the Sens. If this team had any sense of pride, after that embarrassment on home ice Tuesday night, this should be one of their best games of the season. Whether or not that actually happens, well, hockey is a funny sport sometimes.
The last two games between these two teams has produced a total of 14 goals. Neither team’s goaltending is playing well right now, the Sens couldn’t prevent a scoring chance if the opposing team was on roller blades, and Tampa Bay is playing back to back nights on the road. There should be lots of goals in this game, thus there should be some good DFS value (though it might not be on the teams’ respective top lines).
