Columbus Blue Jackets at Montreal Canadiens
The Blue Jackets occupy the final playoff spot in the East at the moment but have lost two of their last three games. Much like Minnesota, this team has struggled to score lately despite generating some very good offensive pressure; over the last two games, the Jackets have scored just two goals on 76 shots, or a 2.6-percent shooting efficiency. Those types of slumps have a way of correcting themselves quickly, so it’s a safe bet that the Jackets put a few on the board tonight. They will have to get their power play going, though, as it has gone 0-for-15 over their last six games.
The Canadiens have now won three games in a row and have scored 13 goals along the way. The impressive part of this is that only three of the 13 goals have been on the power play and that means this team is starting to get it together at five on five a little bit. The penalty kill has been exceptional, though, killing 16 straight over their last five games. It has already been confirmed that Carey Price is starting in net as well and Price has won five straight starts (10 goals against) dating back to before the Olympics.
The Habs have already taken two games from the Blue Jackets this year and have scored seven goals in those two games already. While both sides will have some DFS value, I’m not sure about the goalies. Montreal has been playing pretty well offensively lately but the team has given up at least three goals against in six of their last seven games.
