Calgary Flames at Phoenix Coyotes
Calgary has won back to back games against playoff teams (Anaheim and Dallas) and that is fairly impressive. They’ve also scored 10 goals on their last 55 shots and they will not continue shooting 18.2-percent as a team. As has been their M.O. of late, though, is the limitation of shots against; Calgary has given up at least 30 shots against just once in their last 10 games. They are also just 1-2-1 in their last four games that was the second of a back to back. The lone win was an overtime game against Edmonton, just to gauge their true success in this situation.
Phoenix is 4-4-1 since the Olympics and have all the markings of an inconsistent team: They haven’t won more than two games in a row since early November. That’s actually quite remarkable. One big note from a DFS standpoint is that none of their last 15 games has featured more than seven goals against. For a team that has been porous defensively at times, they aren’t getting filled by the opposition. The ice time is being spread out a lot as well as their last game featured just three players over 20 minutes on ice and each member of the fourth line had at least seven minutes. Spread out offenses are bad for DFS hockey.
