Vancouver Canucks at Dallas Stars
Vancouver is pretty much like the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz and melting into a puddle in front of our very eyes. On the deadline, they traded franchise goalie Roberto Luongo for a bucket of pucks, they kept unhappy centre Ryan Kesler, they got rid of Raphael Diaz on defense and they’ve also lost Daniel Sedin to injury (which necessarily negates Henrik Sedin). This team is in complete shambles right now and I wouldn’t be betting a dollar on them unless they show some improvement in the near-future (highly unlikely).
Dallas has alternated wins and losses coming out of the break but has outshot their opponents by a total of 53 in those four games. In short, this team is absolutely flying at all levels right now. They acquired Tim Thomas to help out in goal behind Kari Lehtonen and traded injured defenseman Stephane Robidas to Anaheim. There’s nothing much else to say except this team looks like it’s gearing for the playoffs and that’s bad news for their opponents.
Another team I’m looking to stack tonight is the Stars. There just is so much going on in Vancouver that the team is a mess right now. Besides how bad Vancouver is now, the Stars took the first two meetings between these two teams and only allowed two goals against in the process. I’m looking to stack the top line from Dallas and will also be using whoever starts for them in net quite a bit. This is probably my favorite match-up tonight.
