Good morning or afternoon (perhaps evening) to those joining us for the live blog for the men’s Olympic hockey quarter-final game between Canada and Latvia.

The Canadians managed a third overall seed and a bye through the qualification round.

Latvia upset Switzerland in their qualification game, a team that was thought to be a darkhorse for a medal.

The winner of this game gets the winner of the USA/Czech Republic game.

Puck drop is shortly after noon Eastern.
