Phoenix Coyotes at Dallas Stars
Phoenix shut out the Chicago Blackhawks last night and that was the first time the ‘Hawks had been shut out in nearly two years. It was a very well-played game from Phoenix but at the same time, you have to wonder what they have left in the tank for tonight’s game.
It’s worth noting that with just 10 wins in 27 road games, Phoenix is pretty much as bad as the Calgary Flames and Florida Panthers when it comes to road games. Combine that with the fact that they are on a back to back and it’s a recipe for a blowout: Phoenix is 2-4 on the second of back to back games this year but both those wins came in the first three weeks of the season, they are 0-4 since October.
Dallas can pass Phoenix in the standings with a regulation win tonight and if Vancouver loses their game, ultimately into a playoff spot. That would be exceptional for a team that lost six straight regulation games to start 2014. Of late, the top line of Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn and Valeri Nichushkin have looked very dangerous the last few games especially.
These two teams met on Tuesday in Phoenix with Dallas taking a 3-1 win with them and outshooting the Coyotes 40-28. Hopefully the Stars aren’t looking past this game, because this is the game I feel most comfortable streaming at will today. The top line, Alex Goligoski, and Kari Lehtonen should be across all lineups today.
