Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – February 6

Martin St Louis

Edmonton Oilers at New York Rangers

Over Edmonton’s last five games, in which they are 4-1-0, the Oilers have been outshot by 72 shots, an average of 14.4 shots per game. This is a rate at which winning hockey is wildly unsustainable and it’s a miracle that they have four wins in those five games.

The Oilers have given up 10 power play goals against in their last 14 games and have scored just eight in return. In their first two games to start the road trip they’re on, the Oilers are 0-for-9 on the power play and just 8-for-11 on the penalty kill. In short, I don’t this team stands a chance tonight.

The Rangers are 13-5-1 since Christmas and have won four games in a row overall. In those four games, the Rangers have scored 18 goals and none of them came from their power play (which has just slipped out of the top 10 in recent games). Basically, all three lines for this team are rolling at different times and that makes them dangerous offensively. With Henrik Lundqvist playing very well for a while (and Cam Talbot, too, as he will probably start), this game looks primed for the Blueshirts.

New York should take this game fairly handily tonight, and I’ll have a lot of their skaters (plus Cam Talbot) in most of my lineups.
