Dallas Stars at Anaheim Ducks
Dallas comes into Anaheim having lost two games in a row and they probably didn’t deserve to lose either of them. They did look a little flat in their most recent loss against the New Jersey Devils but they got sucked into playing New Jersey’s game. One good thing is that the Stars have scored at least two goals in 10 of their last 11 games. That means even when they lose – and I don’t think Kari Lehtonen is a good start here at all – they are producing enough in DFS to keep players viable. Of note is the top line that has been on fire for the last five games.
Anaheim comes into this game having won three of their last four games. As was the case with their last win, though, they got outshot again and were fortunate to be playing a team in Philadelphia that is question defensively at the best of times. The Ducks aren’t reeling by any stretch but this is a team that is starting to show cracks in the foundation at times. They are still among the best in the NHL but this team isn’t viewed the same way it was even two weeks ago when they had won eight games in a row and still hadn’t lost in regulation at home.
These two teams have met twice this season with each team taking a 6-3 win in their own barn. There’s no real way to quantify why some teams match up in high scoring games like that but I imagine the competition level is pretty high between Benn/Seguin and Perry/Getzlaf.
I would avoid both goalies in this game but Dallas’ power play has been on fire for a couple of weeks now and would look to them to get one in this game.
