Chicago Blackhawks at Vancouver Canucks
Chicago is riding their first four-game losing streak of the season, but their third three-plus game losing streak of the last two months after having none in the first two months. I do think this is a team that is starting to get a bit tired and the Olympics won’t help. For the last little while, their underlying numbers have gone down (minus two-percent in cumulative CorsiFor in two months) and their goaltending has been less than stellar. Playing back to back nights on the road is not what this team needs right now, yet here they are a day after losing to Calgary in overtime.
Vancouver is looking to break even on this four game home stand after losing two of their first three games so far. This team has looked very, very shoddy this entire month, posting a 4-7-2 record so far this month and scoring fewer than two goals per game on average in those 13 games. The loss of Henrik Sedin on the top line has made for interesting line combinations – including Brad Richardson with Daniel Sedin – so if things don’t go well for Vancouver tonight out of the gate, expect the lineup blender (and that’s typically bad news for DFSers).
These are two rivals who don’t seem to have a tough time getting up for a game against each other. This is the third meeting this year between the two teams with each team taking a one-goal game from the other (and only eight total goals scored in those two games).
I’ll say that Vancouver wins tonight so that makes whoever starts in net for them a decent bet for DFS lineups. Again, I don’t expect this to be a high-scoring game so you will have to choose your skaters very carefully.
