Philadelphia Flyers at Buffalo Sabres
After a pretty healthy streak of games where the Flyers could hardly be stopped, they’ve now lost two in a row in regulation having been outscored 10-4 in those games. There is regression abound here, and a lot of it is in net – Steve Mason has seen his save percentage drop from one of the league leaders in December at .934 to middle-of-the-pack now at .918. Their goal-scoring has slowed a bit, too, but not to the degree that Mason has been sliding.
The Sabres have gone 4-2-2 over their last eight games and they have only allowed two power play goals against over that span. In fact, they’ve only allowed 15 goals total over their last eight games and if the offense could pick up their goaltending once in a while, they’d have more wins.
Two of those last eight games for the Sabres were started by Jhonas Enroth and he’s gone 0-1-1 in those starts (albeit, he had one goal of support in those two games).
Basically, this should be a low-scoring game. I’ll risk Jhonas Enroth in a couple GPPs but other than that I’ll be staying away completely. Buffalo is synonymous with “hit the under”.
