The two teams exchanged punts to start the second half as they punted on the first three drives of the third quarter. On the Saints’ second drive of the half, they turned the ball over at the Seattle 44 after failing to convert a fourth down. They forced another Seattle punt, however, as what little offense there was in the first half came to a screeching halt in the second.
Suddenly, Drew Brees came alive as he led a 74-yard drive down the field, completing four passes before Khiry Robinson ran in a touchdown and Mark Ingram converted a two-point conversion. After being blanked for nearly 45 minutes, New Orleans had made it a one-score game.
