Anaheim Ducks at Nashville Predators
The long and short of it is that the Ducks have been dominant wherever they have played. Sure, they haven’t lost at home in regulation yet this year, but they are also tied for first in the NHL in wins on the road with 14 (NYR, CHI). This team went 6-1 on the road in December, the lone blemish coming at the hands of the San Jose Sharks. They scored fewer than three goals just once in those seven road games and it came in their loss.
Nashville won their game on Tuesday against San Jose 3-2, marking three straight wins at home for the Predators. They beat the Sharks, Red Wings and Kings over that stretch, so they aren’t beating slouches. Of course, that comes off losing the three home games before that, so the universe has a way of balancing itself out it seems.
This will be the first meeting between these two teams this year so there isn’t much to draw on, but one thing of note is how the depth players of Anaheim have helped of late; Andrew Cogliano, Matheiu Perreault and Matt Beleskey have combined for 10 goals in the team’s last seven game, which is something the Ducks weren’t getting in years previous.
I expect an Anaheim win tonight but a lower-scoring game.
