Daily Fantasy Hockey Value Update – January 7, 2014

Tyler Bozak, Daily fantasy hockey

Minnesota Wild at Los Angeles Kings

The Minnesota Wild are certainly on their way down right now. Even though they’ve won their last two games out, there’s a good chance they will be without captain Mikko Koivu and top offensive player Zach Parise for about a month. On top of that, the best story of this NHL season in starting goaltender Josh Harding has been placed on the IR with what is described as an “illness”.

Much like the Wild, the Kings recently snapped their longest losing streak of the season with a 3-1 win at home against Vancouver over the weekend. That still only makes nine goals for them over their last six games, despite 79 shots over their last two games. You have to figure the goals will come eventually, and tonight seems a good night for it.

This is the first meeting between these two teams since the first game of the year, a 3-2 shootout win for the Kings. It’s also just Jonathan Quick’s second game since returning from injury, though he did stop 27 of 28 shots in his first time out. I will be stacking a few Kings players tonight and will have Quick in a couple lineups as well.
