St. Louis Blues at Edmonton Oilers
The St. Louis Blues have won seven of their last eight games, having scored 35 goals along the way, a nearly 4.5 goals for/game pace. The last time they were in Edmonton was a little over two weeks ago and they blew the Oilers out of the water 6-0 and gave up just 23 shots against.
Edmonton won their last game out, a 5-3 home win against Tampa Bay. That was only their third win in their last 13 games however, having gone 3-8-2 over those last 13 games. Even with their most recent win, the Oilers have still been outscored 13-8 in their last three games.
St. Louis has gotten healthier with the return of captain David Backes, which helps balance things out and gives them a shutdown line to take care of the Ryan Nugent-Hopkins line, as they did in that last game.
I expect more of the same tonight. I expect St. Louis to score quite a few goals, though Edmonton should get a couple as well. That means I will be picking from the skaters of both teams, more heavily from St. Louis, but will be avoiding Brian Elliott because his price is a bit too high for me right now.
