Edmonton Oilers at San Jose Sharks

The Oilers are reeling a bit (a lot); after starting the month of December 3-1-1, they closed out by going 2-6-2 and allowing 33 goals against in those final 10 games.

San Jose, meanwhile, had a turbulent month of December themselves: after starting the month 1-3-1, they closed out by going 6-3, scoring 25 goals in those nine games against 26 goals allowed. Three of those wins came in a shootout while they didn’t bomb out any opponents, hence the minus-1 goal differential in their last nine games.

These two teams met back in the middle of November with the Sharks skating away with a 3-1 victory. Three of the four goals in that game came on the power play and both these teams’ power plays have come alive in recent games.

All that said, this game should be all about San Jose and wouldn’t hesitate to have a lot of their players across all my lineups.
