Winnipeg Jets at Colorado Avalanche
In four road games in the last couple of weeks, the Jets have gone 1-3-0 and have been outscored 14-8 in those four contests. On the season, the Jets have just eight wins in 19 games away from the MTS Centre, and that includes a 3-2 loss in Colorado at the end of December.
Colorado was absolutely bombed out in their first game coming back off the Christmas break, a 7-2 loss in Chicago. I’ll give them a bit of a mulligan, though, as they didn’t have a pre-game skate, so they essentially went into the building of the defending Stanley Cup champions without having skated as a team for four days.
Colorado’s power play has five goals in their last five games, while the Jets have allowed five power play goals against in their last five games. The Avalanche power play hasn’t been anything special for most of the season, but this is a good matchup to get one, even two, with the man advantage.
This won’t be as high-scoring as it seems on paper, I think, but I still lean Colorado in this game.
