Chicago Blackhawks at St. Louis Blues
This is a battle of two other teams that have had pretty good months of December, as they’ve combined to go 13-6-5 in their 24 total games.
The Blues only have three regulation losses at home this year, two to San Jose and one to Anaheim, so they are beating who they should, yet losing to probably better teams.
This should be a game with a lot of goals. Chicago is playing their second game of a back-to-back and are the highest scoring road team in the NHL, St. Louis is one of the best home teams in the league and the second-highest scoring home team.
These two teams met twice back in October with St. Louis skating away with a 3-2 win in both those contests. It will probably be another close game, though I tend to lean more to a 4-3 game instead of a 3-2 game.
One final note: Alex Steen will not be playing in this game for St. Louis. This would tilt the ice in the favor of the Blackhawks. I would also expect the remnants of the Backes line to stay on the Toews line, so I would be looking at secondary ‘Hawks players from this game.
