Detroit Red Wings at Florida Panthers

Superman, meet Kryptonite.

The Red Wings have two losses already this month to the Panthers, a lot of which can be attributed to some key injuries like Johan Franzen, Henrik Zetterberg and Jimmy Howard. There are reinforcements on the way, however, as it is expected that Zetterberg will return to the lineup tonight for Detroit after missing most of this month with a herniated disc. The expectation is that he will play with Justin Abdelkader and Daniel Alfredsson.

Florida was having a real good December until their most recent two games, both losses by a combined score of 11-3. Their own Kryptonite, as it has been most of the year, is their penalty kill; they allowed three power play goals against in those two losses, and have allowed 11 power play goals against in 11 games this month. They were able to kill six of seven penalties against the Red Wings earlier this month, but Zetterberg should help the Red Wings in this department.

This should be another close game, but I like Detroit to take this one in the end.
