Toronto Maple Leafs at New York Rangers
With a win tonight in regulation, the Rangers could close the gap with the Maple Leafs and the final wild card spot in the East to two points. It would also help somewhat savage a nine-game home stand that saw the Rangers start 0-3-1 but could go 3-1-1 over the last five.
Toronto, meanwhile, will be looking to extend their lead on all their wild card pursuers. It’s really quite a feat, considering they have one regulation win in their last 17 games.
Toronto is just 1-3-2 in their last six games away from the Air Canada Centre, allowing 24 goals against in those six games. The Rangers, for all their troubles, haven’t scored fewer than three goals in four straight games.
This game appears to be pretty straightforward: Don’t take either of the goalies but there should be lots of goals to go around.
