St. Louis Blues at Ottawa Senators
The line up shuffling continues for both teams.
In their last game, a 4-3 OT win against Columbus, coach Ken Hitchcock put Vladimir Tarasenko on the top line in St. Louis with David Backes and Alex Steen at times when they were making a comeback. Earlier today, the lines for the Ottawa Senators came out and Mika Zibanejad was down on the third line with Erik Condra alongside Jason Spezza and Clarke MacArthur. I wouldn’t expect Tarasenko to stay on the top line for the Blues, but Ottawa’s line juggling kills Zibanejad’s value.
The Blues are 10-2 against the Eastern Conference this year and that includes wins over Boston and Pittsburgh. The Senators, conversely, are 1-7-2 against the Western Conference this year, with the only win being an overtime win over two months ago in Phoenix.
I don’t like putting so much confidence into any road team, but I don’t see how St. Louis doesn’t come in to the Canada’s capital city and walk out with a win. Ottawa has allowed at least one power play goal in five of their last seven games while St. Louis has five power play goals in their last five games. This screams of a high-scoring game.
