Boston Bruins at Vancouver Canucks
I’ve said it many times over here, and others have written about it, but in almost no situation should a goalie start games on back-to-back nights. That’s exactly what Roberto Luongo will be doing tonight when the Boston Bruins come to town.
These are two of the hotter teams in the NHL right now. Boston has won six of their last seven games, while the Canucks have won six straight games and only allowed one goal against in their last three.
The difference here tonight should be rest of both teams. Boston had a day off yesterday while Vancouver was at home to Edmonton. It’s not to say that this game will be a blow out, but Boston should be able to skate away with a win in a low-scoring affair.
I would fully expect the Bergeron line to be matched against the Sedin line (perhaps the Krejci line will help in this manner as well), so if I’m picking players from this game, I’m looking for the depth players. I’m looking for players on the second and third lines, or second pairing defensemen, to fill holes in my daily lineups.
