Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for May 15

Daily Fantasy Baseball picks

It is a getaway day for many MLB teams, so many are playing matinee baseball, today. That means fewer late games this evening and fewer players with whom to fill your daily fantasy roster. But, head on over to Star Fantasy Leagues and do it anyway. And don’t forget to enter the promo code “SJN” for a 40% deposit bonus. As always, here’s my lineup to help get you on your way.

(C) Buster Posey $9,012 – Posey is facing a pitcher in Ramon Ortiz who is making just his second start of the year and has a 4.92 ERA. Posey himself has a .300 average over the last week.

(1B) Brandon Belt $6,105 – Belt is hitting .412 with a 1.465 OPS over the 7 days. All 5 of his home runs this season have come against righties, another of whom he’s facing tonight.

(2B) Dustin Pedroia $7,405 – Pedroia is facing David Price tonight, against whom he has a .303 lifetime average. And that’s from when Price is pitching as well as he typically does. Pedroia is also hitting .542 in the last week.

(3B) Pablo Sandoval $6,392 – The run on Giants infielders continues here. Sandoval has a home run in three consecutive games, bringing his total to 7 on the season.

(SS) Jean Segura $8,332 – There is hardly a hotter hitter in baseball, let alone at the shortstop position, than Segura. In the last 7 days, he’s gone 12-for-27 with 3 home runs, 5 RBI, and 5 stolen bases. He is just an all around threat right now and is on fire.

(OF) Mike Trout $11,581 – Trout is starting to finally come around. He has hits in 10 of his last 11 games and, this month, he has 5 home runs and 3 stolen bases.

(OF) Vernon Wells $7,285 – It’s hard to believe I’m actually spending money to add Wells to my lineup, but it’s hard to argue the results as of late. With a .414 average and 3 home runs in the last week, he’s been a stud.

(OF) Hunter Pence$6,420 – I’m really putting my eggs in the Giants basket tonight. Pence comes at an affordable price and has multiple hits in 3 of 4 games.

(U) Evan Longoria $8,895 – After filling the rest of my lineup, I had enough money to spend to grab Longoria. He’s hitting .347 with 5 home runs at home this season and is also riding an 8-game hitting streak.

(SP) Shelby Miller $13,845 – After being named the Cardinals’ fifth starter, Miller has done nothing to disappoint. He has given up 3 runs or less in all 7 of his starts this season, is coming off of a complete game 1-hitter, and gets the Mets at home tonight.

(SP) Mike Leake $9,985 – Leake is having an up and down season so far and boasts a 4.32 ERA. I’m hoping his favorable matchup against the reeling Marlins is the difference maker.

(RP) Rafael Betancourt $2,089 – As always, choosing a closer is a shot in the dark, but Betancourt is the pick here. I suspect Jeff Samardzija will give his Cubs a late lead over the Rockies tonight at Wrigley and Betancourt can get the save opportunity.

(P) Brandon League $1,798 – I’m doubling down on closers again, tonight, and banking on Zack Greinke and the Dodgers’ offense to provide League a late lead against the Nationals.
