Not much is changing in the middle of the pack for week 7 of the 2013 MLB Power Rankings, the same can’t be said for the top positions. If it’s even worth mentioning, the Astros continue to hold the bottom position, as they will, likely, for the rest of the year. It doesn’t help that they’ve lost Jose Altuve to the bereavement list for the next couple of games.

On the flipside, the Rangers seem to be doing just fine without Josh Hamilton, perhaps even better. Hamilton, Pujols and the rest of the Angels have yet to come out of their awful start, and remain nowhere to be found in the AL West.

Some trends: Rangers, Tigers, Yankees, Red Sox, Giants and Orioles remain strong, and top the list.

The Cardinals are quickly making their way up the 2013 MLB Power Rankings, but the question remains, how long can their everyday players stay healthy? The regulars are batting well, but their bench numbers tell a different story, save for Matt Adams, who is hitting a cool .469 in 32 at-bats. Time will tell.
