(C) Yadier Molina $7,001 – The Cardinals catcher has 6 hits in 3 games and is hitting .320 on the season. Sounds good to me.
(1B) Lance Berkman $9,265 – Even in the latter stages of his career, Berkman still continues to rake.
(2B) Dustin Pedroia $8,466 – The Red Sox are up in Toronto again where they have scoring a lot of runs this season. As one of the key bats in the middle of their lineup, he makes sense here.
(3B)Will Middlebrooks $6,243 – Middlebrooks has had a hot and cold season, but he’s had great success in Toronto, where he’s had 8 hits and 4 home runs in 5 games this season.
(SS) Jean Segura $7,833 – Segura has shown he belongs in the majors this year and continues to ride a hot bat. He currently has a 4 game hitting streak.
(OF) Nate McLouth $6,985 – McLouth has had a reemergence in Baltimore this season, hitting .329. He also has 8 hits in his last 4 games.
(OF) Daniel Nava $6,896 – Nava has been a pleasant surprise for the Red Sox this year and keeps seeming to come up with hits.
(OF) Mark Trumbo $6,065 – With a .301 average, 6 home runs, and 17 RBI, he’s had a great first month. And he’s put himself at the forefront of people’s minds with his 475-foot long bomb in Oakland.
(U) Ryan Howard $5,502 – Howard isn’t quite the power threat he used to be, but I’m going on a gut feeling that he gets into one tonight.
(SP) Rick Porcello $8,526 – Porcello is a nice pick because he is facing the punchless Houston Astros lineup. His numbers aren’t great this year (1-2, 8.84 ERA) but I’m basing this on the matchup.
(SP) Kyle Kendrick $10,808 – Kyle Kendrick has a 2.41 ERA this year to go along with 24 strikeouts. Pitching against a Marlins lineup without Giancarlo Stanton should make for a nice night.
(RP) Andrew Bailey $1,893 – I wanted a closer who has looked dominant this year and who is on a team with a great chance to win tonight. Bailey fits the bill.
(P) Ryan Dempster $14,075 – Dempster has done exactly what the Red Sox wanted him to do this year by eating innings and not allowing too many runs. His 3.30 ERA and 43 strikeouts should make you feel confident starting him.
