Bare with me. Today’s daily fantasy baseball picks are experimental. Blame me when you lose money, praise me when you win it. Today, I’m going with who’s hot, not who’s got the big track record, with the exception of Trout and Longoria.
As always, use these picks at your discretion, get some extra research in, and supplement as you see fit. If you happen to go with my lineup as is, see above paragraph.
P Kevin Correia MIA@MIN $4,800: He starts out at a great price, and so far this season Correia has a solid 2.95 ERA over three starts. He only has eight strikeouts on the year, but today he’s facing the Marlins. They should be ripe for the picking.
C Chris Iannetta TEX@LAA $3,400: Iannetta has been hitting well over the last week, and based on a small sample size, he has done well against Derek Holland, who’s on the mound tomorrow for the Rangers.
1B Lance Berkman TEX@LAA $3,800: No need to preface here. Berkman is still on a tear.
2B Eric Sogard OAK@BOS $2,400: Never in my life would imagine myself putting Eric Sogard into any lineup, for any reason, yet here I am. Last week, Sogard went 7-for-16 with a double and a triple. He’s cheap, and if he keeps it up, he might find himself in another lineup. Doubt it, though.
3B Evan Longoria NYY@TAM $4,100: Longoria, in his career against C.C. Sabtathia, is 14-39 with five home runs and nine RBI.
SS Everth Cabrera MIL@SDP $3,600: I made mention of too much weight being on Cabrera’s shoulders this year in San Diego, but thus far he has shown that he can handle the pressure. He’s having a nice season, batting .313 with a .403 OBP.
OF Mike Trout TEX@LAA $4,600: He’s alive!
OF Ichiro Suzuki NYY@TAM $3,000: Small sample size again, but Ichiro is Ichiro, and for the price, we’ll trot him out.
OF Shin-Soo Choo CHC@CIN $4,800: Personally, I thought he was done while in Cleveland, but we all know what a change of scenery can do. This is a bit hard to believe, but he’s batting .382, and he’s getting on base more than half of his at-bats (.523).
Total FanDuel Salary: $34,500
Good luck, jerks!
