2013 MLB Power Rankings – Week 2

Week 2

SJN’s Igor Derysh put the first week of baseball into a pitching perspective and sums it up nicely:

“It was a crazy first week of baseball, capped off by a Sunday that saw the likes of Justin Verlander, David Price, R.A. Dickey, Stephen Strasburg, Cole Hamels, and Matt Cain get beat around.”

In additon to that, Chris Davis is on-par to get 393 RBI, and go immediately into the hall of fame. The Upton Bros. are demanding their own stat column, and Mike Morse will lead the Mariners to a World Series.

Point being, it’s early. There are plenty of pitches to be thrown, calls blown, managers tossed, and stars crashed. Our week two rankings should give you an idea of how fickle the power ranking system really is.

Expect lots of ups and downs over the next few weeks as teams find their way.
