Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks – March 27

Minnesota Wild right wing Devin Setoguchi

Once again our daily NHL picks are limited by a small player pool but I like Minnesota against Phoenix tonight. Minnesota has the second longest winning streak in the NHL and I see no reason why they won’t continue that streak against a Phoenix team that hasn’t won in six games. You could take Niklas Backstrom at $8,500 but I’m a sucker for cheap goaltending and Joey MacDonald is going for Calgary tonight. He’s dirt cheap at $5,700.

I debated on playing Brent Burns but a chat with a reader swayed me. He takes up more cap space than I’d normally spend on defense but the fact he’s actually playing forward makes him a very intriguing play.

This is the lineup I’ll roll out in some FanDuel Tournaments tonight:

LW: Devin Setoguchi $6,500—Setoguchi has two goals and one assist over his past three games. He gets power play time and Minnesota is on a roll.

LW: Zach Parise $7,700—Parise has three goals and one assist over his past two games.

RW: Tyler Seguin $7,100—Seguin has four points in two games against Montreal this season.

RW: Pierre-Marc Bouchard $5,100—He has nine points since Mar. 14.

C: Ryan Getzlaf $8,500—Getzlaf has a goal and one assist over his past two games. He’s also starting to rack up the penalty minutes.

C: Matt Stajan $4,700—Stajan is my riskiest pick of the night. He does have 18 points this season but doesn’t see power play minutes. If you were looking for a player who sees power play minutes at this price you could go with Kyle Palmieri.

D: Dougie Hamilton $4,300—Hamilton is my usual def. pick when Boston plays. His potential and power play time are too difficult for me to pass up.

D: Brent Burns $5,400

G: Joey MacDonald $5,700—Cheap goaltending. Calgary is actually a pretty good team at home (9-5-2) so I feel comfortable pulling the trigger on MacDonald.
