Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks – March 3

Calgary Flames right wing Jarome Iginla.

The Florida Panthers really hurt us yesterday as we had Brian Campbell and Jonathan Huberdeau. They combined for minus-3 fantasy points and helped end our winning streak. We are now 33-24 on the season in head-to-head matchups at FanDuel.

Today’s games start at 12:30 with the Blackhawks/Red Wings rivalry. Chicago has allowed a league low 1.76 goals per game. Detroit ranks right in the middle of the league allowing 2.71 goals per game. The last time these two teams met Chicago won 2-1 in overtime. It’s tough to just dismiss guys like Zetterberg and Datsyuk but I just don’t feel comfortable starting players against Chicago.

I’ll enter the following lineup into some head to heads and 50/50’s at FanDuel:

LW: Patrick Kane $8,800—Kane has 25 points in 21 games. The whole Blackhawks/Red Wings game gives me an uneasy fantasy feel but Kane has the ability to produce in any situation.

LW: Jiri Tlusty $5,800—Tlusty has three goals and one assist over his past two games. He’s also a plus-5 over the last two games. His $5,800 price tag may be on the rise.

RW: Jarome Iginla $6,500—Iginla has broken out of his goal scoring slump with four goals in three games. The matchup against Vancouver isn’t one I’m thrilled with—but I can’t ignore how Iginla is trending.

RW: Rick Nash $7,300—Nash had 12 shots with a goal and one assist on Feb. 28. I think he can do some damage against Buffalo today.

C: Matt Stajan $4,900—As long as Stajan sees the majority of time between Iginla and Tanguay on Calgary’s first line he’s a great value play at $4,900.

C: Eric Staal $8,300—Staal has five points in his last two games and I like his matchup against Florida.

D: Dougie Hamilton $3,700—I’ll always roll with Hamilton at this price. He has two assists in Boston’s last two games.

D: Justin Schultz $4,600—Schultz has a four game point streak and I’ll ride the hot hand against Minnesota.

G: Robin Lehner $5,000—Lehner is probable but not confirmed. Check his status before game time.
