Kansas City, you need a pat on the back. You just did not know how to handle the responsibility you had been given. As the postseason started going your way, you truly gained more than you lost: fans.
Any professional athlete or superstar knows they are nothing without their fans, which is why Royals manager Ned Yost begged fans to show up to games in August.
That begging came after a huge win over Minnesota that had less than 14,000 sitting in Kauffman Stadium. That’s a little sad considering it fits close to 38,000 at full capacity. That 38,000 easily sold out weeks before the Royals entered the World Series.
So KC, let’s hope the fans stick around for the season-opener in 2015. That World Series will feel much better when the fans are not such bandwagoners.
Here’s what the Twitter world had to say about the matter:
Royals have no true fans, all of them are just bandwagon #BandWagoners

Why are the @Royals fans shirts so bright blue? Because they just bought them yesterday when they started paying attention. #WorldSeries
