Peyton Manning‘s best playmaker in Denver, Thomas is one of a handful of key players that Broncos management will have to find a way to retain, especially since the odds suggest Manning is going to lace up the cleats for another season.
Thomas is a prime candidate for the franchise tag, which is expected to be between $12.7 and $13 million this season. It might be the ultimate way to go since contract talks broke off last July between the team and the wide receiver.
Denver’s passing game would like eerily different without Thomas split out wide. He’s a true No. 1 talent, so it seems highly unlikely he’ll be leaving town. It makes Julius Thomas the bigger question mark.
