The former first-round pick, Jerry had 3.5 sacks a season ago playing as a rotational defensive lineman. Now Jerry is sitting as the second-string right defensive end behind Jonathan Babineaux in a rotation that now includes Paul Soliai and Tyson Jackson, who were added in free agency.
Jerry was drafted when Atlanta used a different defensive front, and his lack of production may spell the end of his time with the team. He’ll likely have a chance to shed the “bust” label elsewhere.
