Jay Cutler, Matthew Stafford, 20-1
It’s interesting to see Cutler and Stafford on the same tier. Neither one of their teams were playoff squads a year ago, but the Chicago Bears were right on the verge of the tournament while the Detroit Lions had to fire their head coach.
Cutler could have the Bears in the mix for the NFC’s top offense, right there with the Saints and Packers. You can make a similar case for Stafford, too. Being in the same division with Rodgers, it seems unlikely all three of these NFC North squads can be playoff-bound, and perhaps that’s the difference in these MVP campaigns.
