This selection doesn’t have as much to do with Newton as a player, but the lack of true weapons he has in the wide receiving corps or in the backfield, not to mention a new-look offensive line protecting him. Imagine Newton trying to single-handedly shoulder the workload offensively, which doesn’t bode well for him or the Carolina Panthers.
