In a game that Russia should’ve handily won, the Russians were forced to walk away with a draw to their name. With only one point on the board they still have Belgium and Algeria to face. Belgium is the clear front-runner to win the group while Algeria is a team that has kept up with the European nation.
Russia needed a win against Korea Republic to get off to a good start but they made many mistakes.
Possibly the most notable mistake of the match was Russian goalkeeper, Igor Akinfeev, messing up a simple save to the shoulder area.
Fabio Capello just can’t get enough of these.
Here, Robert Green, keeper for England, makes a similar mistake four years ago when Capello was the coach of the English National Team.
