Daily Fantasy Baseball DFS Value Update and Lineup – April 24

Chris Colabello

Cincinnati Reds (Cingrani) at Pittsburgh Pirates (Cumpton)

Tony Cingrani has yet to make a start against the Pirates, but here’s what worries me about today: half of Cingrani’s starts this year have gone exactly five innings or less. Considering his price puts him right at the top of the second tier of pitchers, I might avoid him until he starts consistently going deep in games. I’ll just be taking some cheap hitters from the Reds today.

Ryan Ludwick (OF) – $5301

Brandon Phillips (2B) – $4877

Brandon Cumpton is making his first start this season and he’s not typically a strikeout pitcher, so I would rather just stay away from him today, at least until we get a baseline. This is another situation where I would use cheap Pirates hitters and stay away from everyone else.

Pedro Alvarez (3B) – $4797
