Atlanta Braves (Wood) at Washington Nationals (Jordan)
Alex Wood was very sharp in his first outing and he absolutely dominated that Nationals last year, allowing just one earned run over two outings, striking out 12 in 13 innings. He’s dirt cheap today and is one of my favourite starts of the day. There’s not much prior history with Nats starter Taylor Jordan and the Braves, though, and they have been fairly quiet at the plate so far this year (fewer than three runs scored per game on average).
Alex Wood (SP) – $12,660
Chris Johnson (3B) – $5973
Being high on Wood, I am necessarily down on the Nats. I would avoid their hitters at all costs today. If I’m wrong, so be it. But the team only has three runs against Braves pitching so far this weekend so I will stay away today.
