Daily Fantasy Baskeball: Cheap Advice 4/22/16

daily fantasy basketball advice

Point Guard

Patty Mills (DK $3500, FD $3600, 19.7 USG)

The game’s in Memphis now.  Doesn’t matter.  The Spurs are gonna continue to smash the Grizz with ease.  And with the blowout, comes value off the bench.  Mills has provided us just that over game’s one 1 and 2.  In 19 minutes, he’s averaging 24.25 DKPTS shooting over 50% from 3.  I like him just a bit more than Delly tonight, as I’d expect Detroit to keep that game closer.

Shooting Guard

J.R. Smith (DK $4700, FD $4700, 18.0 USG)

I’d prefer to spend up just a bit more for KCP but J.R. is a fine option if you need the extra salary.  He’s taken 18 3’s over the first two games in the series and scored 21 real life points in game 2.  But be warned, if the shot isn’t falling, you’re in for a tough night.  I suppose if you really wanna chase points, you can roster Kyle Korver for a bit cheaper but I just don’t see that performance coming close to a repeat.

Small Forward

Thabo Sefolosha (DK $3100, FD $3600, 12.3 USG)

If you’re not spending on LeBron, I’d much prefer options like Morris or Bazemore but Thabo is playing over 20 minutes a game in this series (small sample size) and averaging 20.9 DKPTS.  If he can score you points off his offense, consider it a bonus cause a lot of his production comes off rebounding, steals and blocks.

Power Forward

JaMychal Green (DK $3400, FD $4400, 19.8 USG)

With Jarell Martin missing the remainder of the playoffs, playing time (especially garbage time) should be available again for Green and now might my favorite value play on the slate.  We’ve seen what Green is capable of doing when given a respectable role.  Including game 2, Green has had at least 24 DKPTS against S.A. 3 times this season so the matchup shouldn’t strike too much fear in you.

Center

Jared Sullinger (DK $4400, FD $5600, 21.8 USG)

I can’t fully support this but Christ, look how far down his price has dropped.  Brad Stevens clearly doesn’t think Sully has much to offer this series (under 20 minutes in games 1 and 2) and I can’t blame him.  I fell for the trap when I heard Kelly O would sit out game 2, ensuring Sully more minutes but he’s a shell of himself currently, running around like a sloth out there while Horford and Milsap eat up everything in sight.  He’s averaging just over 20 DKPTS on the Hawks this season so if you’re absolutely desperate for savings here, maybe Sully can capture lightning in a bottle and return to early season form.  Do yourself a favor and just pay up for Horford.
