11. Pittsburgh Pirates (62-55) (LW 11) – The Pirates have been able to avoid placing Andrew McCutchen on the disabled list  with a rib fracture, and they’re hoping he can return to the lineup soon. They’ve at least been able to hold their own in the meantime, going 3-3 in the six games he’s sat out.

12. San Francisco Giants (62-56) (LW 8) – The Giants are heading in the wrong direction. One week after snapping a seven-game losing streak, they are now working on a four-game skid.

13. Seattle Mariners (62-55) (LW 17) – The Mariners’ team ERA is now at 2.99. If that holds, Seattle would make history. No team has had a sub-3.00 ERA this century.

14. New York Yankees (61-56) (LW 14) –Among all above-.500 teams, the Yankees have the worst run differential at -25. They are one of only two such teams (Cardinals) that has allowed more runs that it’s scored.

15. Atlanta Braves (60-57) (LW 12) – The Braves rode an eight-game losing streak into their weekend series with Washington. But they were able to take two of three to get back to within 4.5 games of the division lead.
