The NBA All-Underrated Team

Isaiah.Thomas.Kings

Isaiah Thomas

  • Pint-sized PG with voracious appetite for touches
  • Shoots like a 7′ center who gets upset if you call him a power forward
  • The third guy in that Reebok Commercial

The league’s most bang-for-your-buck draft pick (selected dead last in 2011), Thomas’ 23.76 PER is 10th in the league right now, one spot ahead of critic’s darling Paul George. There’s plenty of fuss over his height, which is much ado about nothing because he shoots higher percentages than Tim Duncan.

Considering Thomas has clearly proven he’s an impact NBA player – plus the fact that both Derrick Williams and Jimmer Fredette (picked 2nd and 11th in 2011, respectively) are currently not starting on the same team and that Iman Shumpert finished with more ROTY votes than Isaiah did – we can probably assume that nobody in the NBA knew what they were doing in 2011 and the Kings probably still don’t.

Anyway… Thomas shares a team (and occasionally the rock) with Cousins and although you’d like to see all that talent win a few more games, their combined EWA is behind only Portland’s LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard and the Clippers’ Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.
